Hi Sweet Friend{{first_name}}
Welcome back to another issue of The Real Lesson
If you’ve missed it, every Friday I send something short from my kitchen — what I baked, what I learned, and usually something that takes me all the way back home to Grenada.
Welcome 🤗
This week the Grenadian Flavors series came back!
In the News
This week’s bake: Nutmeg Sugar Donuts
Yeasted dough, fried golden, and coated in granulated sugar, brown sugar and freshly grated nutmeg. Inside and out.

Stay Inspired
If you’ve been here since Q1, you might remember my Grenada Independence Donuts. This is the next chapter of that series. And coming back to it after a break — I felt something shift
Inside the bake
This week’s lesson was confidence comes from repetition.
And I felt that in a real way this week. Making donuts again in this series, I wasn’t second guessing myself the way I might have the first time. I knew the dough. I knew the temperature. I knew what golden looked like.
Repetition did that. Not talent. Not a recipe. Just doing it again.
That’s what this quarter is really about, building the kind of confidence that only comes from showing up in the kitchen consistently. Week after week. Bake after bake.
In the Spotlight
This week’s blog post I wrote about Soft Girl Summer starting in the kitchen. Slowing down, redefining what soft really means, and choosing to enjoy the process as summer gets closer.
Because softness isn’t weakness. Soft is intentional. And the kitchen is the best place to practice.
In case you missed it…
